Limestone Trout Club – a private, members only retreat
Limestone Trout Club prides itself with having the best stillwater fly fishing in the northeast. Our ponds hold brown, brook, tiger, rainbow, and golden rainbow trout.
LTC is a registered 501(c)7, Social club, with the IRS.
As a private club, a CT fishing license is NOT required to fish at Limestone, but outside our property, everyone older than 16 must be licensed.
Limestone Trout Club provides both the solitude of wilderness fishing with the companionship of friendly anglers. With six ponds, an average of less than six anglers a day you often find your self fishing a pond all to yourself.
All members and guests must sign in and pick up their issued badges before heading out on the grounds. The clubhouse has the registry book, badges, census and liability forms right by the front door. The clubhouse lends itself to gatherings with friends and family whether that is drinking a cup of coffee, eating lunch, or having a picnic. Your culinary needs are met with microwave, refrigerator, stove, or gas and charcoal grills. Several fine restaurants are near by as well as a Stop and Shop supermarket, farmer’s markets (see Tourist info), and package(liquor) stores.
For the more adventurous, we have a rustic cottage for rent that sleeps six in a comfortable lakeside setting. Whether for few days away with the family, “the guys” or “the gals”(yes, we do have women members!) or just a quite break, we have a lot to offer you and your family .
The setting is unsurpassed. With beautiful ponds on the 94 acres of woods, fields and ponds you are taken back to nature where you shed the cares of the outside world.
You like rivers or streams? It’s only a short drive down the hill to explore trout stocked in the Blackberry river. We are within 20 minutes drive from West Cornwall Covered Bridge on the Housatonic river. The famous Farmington river is less than a 20 mile drive to the headwaters near Riverton, CT.
